An invite code, a ChatGPT Plus or Pro subscription, a VPN, or a different app-store region cannot restore that consumer access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One official route remains for a limited time: OpenAI\u2019s Sora 2 API is deprecated but scheduled to remain until September 24, 2026. It is a developer service billed separately from ChatGPT, the Free API tier is not supported, and access is limited to OpenAI-supported countries and territories<\/a>. OpenAI\u2019s deprecation schedule<\/a> lists no replacement for the Videos API or the affected Sora 2 models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sora 2 now has two different availability answers because OpenAI retired the consumer product before the developer API. The Sora website and mobile apps are no longer an access route. Consumer availability and API eligibility are different. A country appearing on OpenAI\u2019s general API-supported list does not mean the discontinued Sora app is available there; it only means an eligible developer account may use supported API products while they remain offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
